EDITOR'S NOTE: Normally, the editors of LocalFoodService.com post our own blogs. Sometimes we 'borrow', and link back to the author's site, or simply credit them as a contributor from our National food service community, FoodService.com.

But I REALLY like these guys...local bloggers that also happen to have a food service background AND know how to position prose. I hope you enjoy their stuff... I certainly do...

In May of 2008, Cleveland was emerging on the culinary landscape. No longer was the North Coast nationally known as a city where pierogies and White Castle passed for fine dining. Six months prior, Michael Symon had won a Food Network competition to become an Iron Chef, and his notoriety had shone a spotlight on the other wonderful chefs in Cleveland.

This attention led Cleveland Magazine to do a feature on the chefs they named as the “Tastemakers” for the region. Shown in the above picture reprinted from that feature, these were chefs that raised the bar for our local culinary scene, placing C-town on the map. As we enter the new decade let’s take a look back at how these chefs have done since then, and look forward to the future.

You Can't Rely on Word-Of-Mouth Anymore

There's never been more resources at operators fingertips to help them market and promote their business.  Not all  new technologies work for everyone, and in some sense, we are still only as good as the last meal we've served.

However, the Marketing and Promotions Blog tells the stories of real food service professionals and how they market their business. LocalFoodService.com is committed to teaching you how to leverage the internet.  It's not just some marketing jargon.  We live it everyday.

We invite marketing pros, advertising specialists, owners, operators, promotions people, association executives to share their knowledge on this topic.
