LocalFoodService.com began in February of 2009, in Western New York. Northern Ohio was added in July, Pittsburgh in August, and the New York Tri-State community is just getting started. Our memberships grow each week, and for that we are grateful.
The Community Managers are grateful to you for allowing us into your digital lives, and we will continue to add features that will provide greater benefits as we continue to grow in 2010.
Joe - don't forget to repeat: "We had to come all the way to Cleveland for you to get beat by a Melignon" Since I am only half Dago, I can hate on myself too. I personally like this line from the Pope of Greenwich Village: "Did you try the Scungilit tonight? Nah, I got a sour stomach."
Does this post violate our community standards, Harvey?
I'm going to say goodbye to 2009 and hello to 2010 with a ceremony I created: chew three cloves of raw garlic while washing and conditioning my back hair; marinate in some Aqua Velva and slam back an eggplant and gabagool sandwich. Then chug a triple espresso to keep me awake while I watch, again, for the 73rd time, both Godfather I & II, and dream about how Francis Ford should have been castrated for making GF III. HNY Vince, Harv & All! (Sicilian On Board.)
the arrival of Dangerous Joe Arico...food broker...food blogger...and serial Italian/American restaurant slayer...you can call him --and you would be justified--an S.O.B, but please don't serve him an 8oz pasta portion.
There is an unmistakable connection between food and memory. The smell of something baking in an oven can transport one back decades, to another time, another place, where the world may have seemed simpler and boundless in possibility.
The LFS Nostalgia Blog allows us a look back at the people, places, products and memories that collectively contribute to a particular food culture.
Our food traditions need to be preserved by those who have lived the life of a food professional. This is your chance to capture a story, tell the tale, paint a picture, of something that happened and still remains in your delicious memory.
